GOVINDA JAYA JAYA

NRSINGADEVA
Translation: Victory victory [to] Govinda,
Victory victory [to] Gopala,
Hari [Krsna] pleasure giver to Radha,
Victory victory [to] Govinda,
Victory [to] Nrsingadeva (this is a form that Krsna took as half man and half lion and deva
means god),
Nrsingadeva.
Gopala is one of Krsna's names. During
Krsna's childhood in Vrindavana in
Ramanhari is again one of the names of Sri
Krsna. Radha was the name of Krsna’s childhood friend and beloved. She is
His consort. The word Ramanhari means "the one who steals the peace of the
mind" that is, in this case, of Radha. Sri Krsna enchanted Radha, all of
the gopis and gopalas, animals and villagers by His flute (anandini, bansuri,
murali).
Nrsingadeva is an avatar (incarnation) of
Krsna/Vishnu. This form of Krsna was half lion and half man (the upper part of
his body (face, chest and stomach) was of a lion, and lower part of his body
was of a man). He had the fore limbs (arms) of a lion, having big paws and very
sharp, long nails. Nrsingdeva, itself, is a joint name of three words as
follows: nr = male/man, sing = lion, deva = god.
Prabhupada refers to the spiritual master,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Praphupada ji, the founder of ISKCON. This is a common
temple bhajan/song.
Govindam is one of the names given to Sri
Krsna. It is a joint name from two words: gov = cows + indam = god. Govinda was
the person who was the god of the cows or the person who took care of the cows,
just like the One takes care of man. Cows are very sacred in Bharat (
Background Information: "Govinda" is a folk/devotional song and it is
about Sri Krsna.

TRANSLATION:
1) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, whose face is extremely delightful, in
whose beautiful ears hang jeweled earrings and whose entire body is anointed
with fragrant candana.
2) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, whose eyes are more beautiful than the
fully bloomed lotus, whose head is beautifully adorned with an arrangement of
peacock feathers and who enchants millions of Cupids.
3) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, from whose beautiful nose hangs an
elephant-pearl, whose teeth are immensely effulgent, whose bodily complexion is
more beautiful and lustrous than a fresh rain cloud.
4) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, whose lotus hands hold the flute, whose
lingering gait defeats even that of an impassioned elephant and whose dark
limbs are beautified by a yellow shawl.
5) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, whose threefold-bending posture is
exquisitely elegant, the effulgence of whose toe-nails puts to shame even the
moon, and who wears invaluable jewels and ornaments.
6) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, whose body exudes an especially beautiful
fragrance, and whose broad chest is adorned with the kaustubha jewel and the
mark of srivatsa.
7) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, the expert lover of Vrindavana who performs
immaculate pastimes and who is attired in clothes which are suitable for those
pastimes and who pulverized the pride of Indra.
8) I offer pranama to Nandanandana, who as the lover of the Vraja gopis
perpetually delights them and who enchants the minds of all living entities.
9) Whoever regularly recites this (Sri Nanda-nandanastakam) will easily cross
the seemingly insurmountable ocean of material existence and attain eternal
residence at the lotus feet of Krsna.
Side Notes on Namami Nanda-Nandana: Namami Nanda-Nandana is
about Sri Krsna. It is a prayer to Krsna. Krsna is called Nanda-nandana in
relationship with Nanda Maharaja, His foster father (as He appears as the son
of Nanda Maharaja). When people said that He was born of Nanda Maharaja, He was
called Nanda-Nandana. Nanda-Nandana is a loving way to say "Krsna".
It is like saying "the darling son of Nanda Maharaja".

On Tattva
"Tattva, acintya bheda bheda Tattva ..."
Translation: "Tattva, acintya bheda
bheda Tattva" means "simultaneous oneness and difference".
quote:
4. Acintya-bhedåbheda-tattva
Simultaneous oneness and difference
of the Lord and His potencies
From the above discussion, it is proved that the living
entities (jîvas), the material world (ja?a-jagata), and the Lord’s
personal splendour as regards His Vaikuv†ha existence (tadrüpa-
vaibhava) are inconceivably one and different from His
original spiritual form (bhagavat-svarüpa). The anucit-jîvas, on
account of being dependent on the Lord, are His separated
parts and parcels—in this is found their non-distinction from
the Lord (abheda). However, due to an absence of knowledge
of the Supreme Lord, they are preoccupied with the material
energy—in this lies their difference (bheda).
In other words...
Though we come in various forms and though we are all individuals, we all come
from the same source, we are made of the same material/substance, but we are
very much different from each other physically. The same is true for everything
in nature.
As for "Tattva", tattva means
reality, principle, and truth. It can be thought of as an awakening, when one
realizes that there is more to life than what he sees through his eyes.
A better way to look at it is like this:
There is no creation of the living entity. We are eternal entities, separated
expansions of the One Lord. From the angle of the Lord, He is everything,
including us. From the angle of the separated expansion, we are different from
the Lord. Thus, there is simultaneous oneness and difference/inscrutable
simultaneous distinction and non-distinction ("tattva achintya bheda bheda
tattva") based on the angle of vision of the perceiver.

Song "Narayana":
"Om Namah Narayana" is a vedic form of chanting meaning respect to
Lord Narayana (Salutations) - in this context, it is referring to Lord
Vishnu (the protector).
If you
believe the western sun is falling down on everyone
If you break it free and the morning’s come
If you would now your time has come
If you believe the western sun is falling down on everyone
And you feel it burn, don’t try to run
And you feel it burn, your time has come
And I
feel it
You feel another energy and I feel a power growing
You feel another energy and I feel a power grow
You feel another energy and I feel a power grow
If you
believe the western sun is falling down on everyone
If you break it free and the morning’s come
If you would now your time has come
If you believe the western sun is falling down on everyone
And you feel it burn, don’t try to run
And you feel it burn, your time has come
I feel it!
You feel another energy and I feel a power growing
You feel another energy and I feel a power grow
You feel another energy and I feel a power grow

Song "Hurry On Sundown (Hari Om
Sundown)":
"Hari Om is the healing Mantra. Hari is
a name of Vishnu, the preserving aspect of the Divine. Krsna is also an aspect
of the preserving or sustaining force, and so Hari may be thought of as the
healing aspect of Lord Krsna. God assumes many aspects in order to provide us
with a variety of ways to tackle our difficulties, according to individual
characteristics and temperaments.
In Sanskrit, Hari means "to take
away." Vishnu takes away the consequences of offences, errors, and
follies, when there is repentance. These are the impurities that bring about
grief and sickness. If they are removed, health and strength are conserved for
spiritual endeavors.
This Mantra calls on Vishnu (or Lord Krsna)
to preserve the human body and the mind in the best state of health for the purpose
of finding Self-Realization, attaining to the

Written by Srî Caitanya Mahåprabhu:
“Let there be supreme victory for the chanting of the holy
